A creation of abstract art, the unique Sydney Opera House located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia was formally inaugurated by Queen Elizabeth II on October 20, 1973.
This 20th century building is unlike any other opera house in the world. Covering 1.8 hectares of land, this 183 meters tall structure stand on 580 concrete piers, sunk 25 meters below sea level.
It has 1000 rooms, including 5 theatres, 5 rehearsal studios, 2 main halls, several eateries and shops.
It has a capacity to seat a large number of people in its various performance halls. The concert hall alone has 2679 seats.
